One for Sorrow was a collaborative project produced with the artist Jo Paul in 2015 while we were both resident AA2A artists at North Hertforshire College.

The work investigates how a collaborative artistic practice can traverse the themes of infertility, maternal loss and maternal desire. We presented the work at the Motherhood and Creative Practice conference at London Southbank University in 2015.

We have since contributed a chapter about our project titled: One for Sorrow: the collaborative work of mother and not-yet-mother to the book The Maternal in Creative Work: Intergenerational Discussions on Motherhood and Art, 2019, Edited by Elena Marchevska and Valerie Wlakerdine.
